I'm sure we could write quite a lot of formulas, but it's pretty simple.   And there's a catch-all to make sure it makes financial sense in the case of surprises.

It's £50 an hour for the two of us and a set-up/break-down fee of £20 - that's setting up all the equipment, speakers, amps, and lights, and at the end of the job, breaking that all down and carrying it off.  Together with two complete hours of live playing, the mid-session break is not taken off the two hours.

Most of our jobs are two hours with something like a 10-20 minute break halfway through (and no, we don't charge for a break! - and you can opt for no break as we've done many times).  So that costs  2 x £50 + £20 =  £120.  So then, 1 hour would be £50 + £20 =  £70.  And 3 hours - like a wedding or family house/garden party would be 3 x £50 + £20 = £170.     But more than that - we don't ambush you with a fee that's completely wrong for the number of people who turn up at a pub or an event - say you have a rainy day, or a sunny day, that completely changes the number of people who you expected to came and buy beer and food - we'll negotiate a more sensible fee at the time so we all make some money!  We're not bank robbers!!  The fees only come down - we don't raise fees.

And yep -  we can play outside.  With no bass playing or drummer, like Animal in the Muppets,  we can keep the volume down and not annoy the neighbours.
